Prayer post 7/21/2020

Good afternoon all.  It has been a while and we are so grateful for your diligent and persistent prayers on behalf of the pastor search committee.  We are taking this week off.  Although we are not meeting, we are still about the business you have tasked us to accomplish.

Frankly, we had a bit of a disappointment recently.  We were all pretty excited about a candidate but at the last minute he took his name out of the running.  We are grateful that the LORD is ahead of all of this and, although disappointing, it was nevertheless affirming to see Him firmly in control.

We are kind of back to the drawing board and reviewing the other queued up candidates, and Charles McGowan is still on the hunt for us.
The good news is, there is the right guy out there.  :)

In any event, the committee really appreciates your prayer and would be ever so grateful if you would continue with us in patient persistence.  We still ask for discernment and wisdom and encourage you to pray through James 3:17 with us.

Prayer Request for 6/24/2020

Dear Friends,

We have not spoken recently but that does not mean the committee has not been busy. The LPSC been meeting each week, sometimes twice per week. We are really tired, but not weary; we remain enthusiastic. We need your prayers for sustained energy and that God would lead us to the right guy. On behalf of the church, please make an extra effort to focus on prayer for open eyes. We understand that Charles McGowan may have two more candidates for us to consider. And if he does we will gladly review them as well. Jenna described this search as being similar to buying a house; the more you look, the more you understand what you are looking for.

Recently we had the chance to spend extended time with two candidates. Clearly each had strengths. No one will be exactly like Frank, but God has in mind the right man to take the church into the next generation and impact the surrounding culture for Christ. We just need eyes to see him.

Thanks so very much for your important prayer support.
